Anna Paquin, a Canadian-New Zealander actress. She was born in Winnipeg and was raised in Wellington Paquin was able to make her acting debut in the role of Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she was awarded the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress aged 11 years old, making her the second youngest winner of the award in Oscar history. Canadian-born New Zealand actor who won the Academy Award as a youngster for the Best Supporting Actress award for her role as the curious and sociable daughter of Holly Hunter's lead character as Holly Hunter in The Piano. After a public audition at the age of nine, she changed her name to Flora McGrath - the daughter of the Scottish piano player who was muted in the 19th century. Paquin had a small part in the film's title role when she was still a kid on Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (1996) and she was a leading character in the film Fly Away Home (1996). Paquin played Frankie Addams in a 1997 television movie adaptation of Carson McCullers's novel The Member of the Wedding and had a minor role in the title role as Queen Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). She was also a character in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon(1999) as well as Almost Famous (2000). Also, she played the character Polexia Aphrodisa.
