Amy Smart, an American actress and former model. Her modelling career began in Italy, in which she was born and raised, before being was born in California. In 1996, she made her debut as an actor in the TV film Her Costly Affair. Her struggle to land the role on Starship Troopers, a film with mainly minor roles was very intense. Amy struggled to make the shift to acting because models weren't considered skilled actors and typically were given small roles. Amy did not give up. Her first big roles were in The 70s followed by Varsity Blues. In 2005, Amy took on the lead role in The romantic comedic film Just Friends with Ryan Reynolds. Amy achieved the fame she'd been seeking for nearly 10 years, when her movie, Just Friends was released. She continued to do major films, such as Crank with Jason Statham or Shameless in which she was a beloved as a recurring character.
