Amy Smart is an American former actress and model. The modeling career she began with was in Italy in Italy, where she was raised and was born in California. She made her acting debut at the age of 16 in her debut in the TV movie Her Costly Affair. After a difficult fight to get a part, she was offered a role in the 'Starship Troopers' series starring in Starship Troopers. Amy struggled to make the leap from modeling into acting since models are not usually considered an actor of high quality. They're often given small and unimportant parts. Yet, somehow Amy was determined to keep going and stepped into bigger roles eventually starting with the show The 70s and the film Varsity Blues. The 2005 romance comedy Just Friends, which also included Ryan Reynolds, saw her take on some more notable parts. Amy was recognized after more than ten years of struggling. Amy went on to star in major films including the Crank Series alongside Jason Statham, and Shameless.
